Antiques Fair To Continue – New Organiser Announced
The Kent Event Centre at the Kent Showground announced today that B2B Events had been awarded a three-year contract to run the Antiques & Collectors Fair on the Showground. “This is the largest fair of its type in the County, we wanted to choose an organiser who was able to enhance the Show into a quality event. B2B Events has experience and we are looking forward to working with them to regenerate and improve the standing of the Fair” said Alison Wallington, Events Manager, Kent Event Centre.
The management team at B2B Events were said to be delighted to have been awarded the Detling contract. “It will be like old times”, said Roger Sumner, Director, who is well known at the Showground having worked as on-site Operations Manager for dmg when they owned the Fair. Helen Martin, Director, a former antiques trader, is originally from Kent and is excited about the contract award as this was one of her top fairs. Alan Yourston, former employee of dmg and IACF has joined B2B events and brings his vast experience to the organisation. The B2B team will be working closely with the Kent Event Team at the Showground and are currently considering sponsorship opportunities at the Kent County Show on 16, 17 and 18 July.
Helen Martin, Director, said “We are planning to hold five Antiques & Collectors Fairs on the Showground the first being 17 & 18 April. We are looking to build up the fair and encourage the return of dealers that haven’t attended for sometime, as well as encouraging UK buyers and buyers from Europe who can take advantage of the close proximity of the channel tunnel connection.
